Chris Gyngell

Christopher manages Carfax Education in Abu Dhabi and engages in sporadic English and Maths tuition to learners of all ages. Christopher specialises in helping children prepare for school entrance at 7+, 11+, and 13+, as well as helping those looking for academic interview preparation and spoken English practice. Christopher graduated with a degree in Russian from the University of Bristol in 2011, having spent two years living and working in Russia.


Patricia Vlad


Patricia runs the administration for Carfax’s office in Dubai. She is responsible for the smooth running of business in Dubai, making sure that the best possible facilities can be offered to pupils for their education. Patricia is a graduate of Cambridge University where she studied Education with Modern Languages as well as Natural Sciences. In her previous position she assisted pupils for Oxford and Cambridge entrance applications and interviews. During her free time, she enjoys ballroom dancing and playing board games.


Matthew Harris

Matt Harris

Matthew Harris graduated in English from Queen Mary, University of London and is currently Head of English at Carfax UAE, supporting tutors within the English Department and supervising the overall subject provision. He has spent over four years teaching English in Myanmar, Finland, Hong Kong and the UAE, and has experience teaching both English Language and English Literature, including, GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and IB preparation. Matthew is also CELTA qualified, and has taught specialised classes in Business English, Legal English and IELTS preparation. He runs summer camps in the UK for boys between the ages of 11 and 16, which he has been doing for ten years.  



Madeleine Waspe


Madeleine is a Medical Physics graduate from Cardiff University and is currently tutoring all Sciences and Maths for Carfax Dubai. Madeleine has experience teaching these subjects to all age ranges, as well as English as an Additional Language (EAL) in South Africa and across South East Asia for a variety of non-profit organisations. Throughout her studies Madeleine volunteered in schools across the UK - working with the government "Labs in Lorries" scheme - teaching young pupils about the application of science. This experience allowed Madeleine to work with pupils of all ages and abilities, including those with physical and educational needs. During the exam season Madeleine also works alongside UK exam board OCR, marking Physics and Mathematics GCSE papers.


Duc Vu


Duc read Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge and graduated with a Master's degree in Astrophysics. Duc has a broad range of international education experience, teaching pupils of all ages during his time at school and university. He specialises in Mathematics, Physics, Economics and German up A-Level/ IB standard. Outside of work, Duc enjoys participating in social clubs, as well as playing a wide variety of sports.


Alexandra Revill


Alexandra graduated with a First Class Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Cardiff University and is currently tutoring Maths and Science for Carfax Education in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. She has spent time working for charities in the UK to engage pupil in STEM subjects, and has also taught English classes across South East Asia. In her spare time Alexandra enjoys pilates and baking.


Charlotte Carey


Charlotte grew up in Hong Kong and was educated at Bedales School in the UK. The progressive, independent learning and study tools she acquired in her formative years were honed and practiced during her time at medical school. Even though she has a Master's Degree in publishing, and experience working in that industry, her true passion lies with the sciences. Charlotte teaches all sciences and maths up to A-level/IB standard and her lessons often have a heavy focus on learning skills, revision methods, and exam technique tailored to each individual's learning style and needs.


Carl Morris


Carl graduated from Oxford University with a Master's degree in Chemistry and is currently tutoring all Sciences and Maths up to A Level/IB standard. During his studies Carl volunteered with the Access Project, a charity designed to aid underprivileged students gain places at top UK Universities, providing interview preparation and subject support. Working with various tuition companies in the UK, Carl has gained experience teaching a variety of pupils - from early years to degree level - with a range of abilities. Outside of teaching Carl enjoys skiing and rowing, and is also a Chartered Accountant holding ACA status with the ICAEW.
